Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Electrician Assistant to support our electrical team on marine maintenance projects. This role involves assisting licensed electricians with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems across commercial and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will have foundational electrical knowledge, hands-on experience with tools, and a strong safety mindset to thrive in a dynamic construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with NEC standards and schematics.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform wiring, conduit bending, and fixture installation tasks (Tools are provided).
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support project execution.
- Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues, including low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Support the setup of construction sites by framing carpentry and preparing work areas for electrical installations.
- Follow all safety protocols related to electrical work, including working with low voltage and high voltage systems safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in industrial or commercial electrician work is preferred.
- Must be 18 and pass background check and drug test.
- Must have valid Drivers license and transportation.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and schematics reading is essential.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations, low voltage, high voltage systems, and blueprint interpretation is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of low voltage wiring, high voltage safety procedures are advantageous.
- Ability to read technical schematics and follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Strong commitment to safety practices on job sites.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
