Are you a sports fan with a passion for college basketball? A global leader in sports data is looking for dedicated individuals to capture real-time game data from Division I college basketball games. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented person to be a key part of the sports data industry.
This role focuses on providing live, in-person coverage of Mississippi State University home games for the upcoming season. We are seeking applicants who are located near the university and are at least 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Attend Division I college basketball games in person, with a focus on Mississippi State University.
- Provide real-time coverage of live action and game events using our proprietary TxODDS software on your mobile phone.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates on scores, player stats, and other key match details.
- Complete pre-match reporting duties, including verifying game times, formats, and other necessary information.
- Submit post-match reports highlighting any issues or observations.
- Promptly submit expense information for reimbursement.
- Maintain open communication regarding your availability for future events.
Qualifications
- Passion and knowledge of basketball, with the ability to understand and follow game dynamics.
- Ability to perform effectively and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong command of spoken English.
- Must have a mobile phone with a reliable internet connection and a long-lasting battery.
- Willingness and ability to travel to different college basketball venues.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required; comprehensive training is provided.
Compensation & Benefits
This is an independent contractor position with a per-game payment structure.
- Base Pay: $175 per game.
- Success Bonus: An additional $100 for each of the first three completed games ($300 total).
- Additional Compensation: Reimbursement for event tickets and opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
- Opportunities for Growth: Potential to cover early-season tournaments, conference tournaments, March Madness, and other sports like college football.
- Training: You will receive a comprehensive training program (approximately 5-10 hours) and direct mentorship from an experienced trainer before your first live event.
