What You'll Do
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll work under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide quality rehabilitation services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide individualized physical therapy interventions according to established treatment plans
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and functional activities
- Apply appropriate treatment techniques under the direction of the Physical Therapist
- Monitor and communicate patient responses and progress
- Educate patients on exercises and treatment activities
- Document patient care accurately and on time
- Communicate effectively with Physical Therapists and other members of the care team
- Support a positive, patient-focused therapy environment
- Provide care to primarily outpatient orthopedic patients, with some swing-bed patients
What We're Looking For
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Indiana PTA license or eligibility for Indiana licensure
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred
- Outpatient orthopedic experience
- Experience with manual therapy or orthopedic rehabilitation
- Previous hospital or swing-bed experience
- Strong clinical experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
