Description
The Field Technical Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service through the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of cutting-edge equipment and machinery. This role supports both in-shop and on-site operations, ensures equipment reliability, and provides hands-on customer training to maximize performance and safety.
The ideal candidate will have experience in abrasive blasting and coatings applications, possesses strong technical and mechanical aptitude, experience with hand, power, and diagnostic tools, and the ability to work independently in both shop and outdoor, industrial job site environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate advanced and cutting-edge equipment for customer applications and job site needs
- Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and machinery
- Perform routine preventative maintenance in-shop and at customer job sites
- Provide hands-on training and clear operational guidance to customers
- Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine effective solutions
- Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Complete service and maintenance on shop vehicles
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly tagged equipment and work areas
- Ensure vehicles are clean, stocked, and well maintained
- Assist with job site setup and teardown as needed
- Track inventory, time, and materials while on service calls
- Conduct inventory counts of shop supplies and assist with warehouse organization
- Receive, stock, and organize incoming materials and equipment
- Accurately complete all required documentation and service records
- Answer customer inquiries and provide technical assistance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager
Requirements
- Experience as an end user in the blasting and coatings industry in industrial environments
- Strong mechanical and technical skills
- Experience operating and troubleshooting equipment and machinery
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments
- Ability to work outdoors and at customer job sites
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High level of accountability, organization, and work ethic
