We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead our nursing and clinical teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who is passionate about patient safety, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams.
Position Summary
The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, including Pre-Operative, Operating Room, PACU, Sterile Processing, and Infection Prevention activities. The Clinical Director provides leadership to the clinical staff while ensuring compliance with AAAHC accreditation standards, CMS Conditions for Coverage, OSHA regulations, and all applicable state and federal requirements.
This individual will work closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and executive leadership to maintain exceptional patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and an outstanding patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to all clinical staff.
- Oversee daily operations of the surgery center.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
- Maintain continuous readiness for AAAHC accreditation and regulatory compliance.
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and update clinical policies and procedures.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and employee performance.
- Conduct employee evaluations, competency assessments, and ongoing education.
- Oversee Infection Prevention and Sterile Processing programs.
- Monitor patient safety indicators, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Assist with budgeting, supply management, and capital equipment planning.
- Promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of five years of perioperative nursing experience.
- Minimum of three years of leadership or management experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or hospital surgical services department.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and regulatory compliance.
Preferred
- Spine surgery experience.
- AAAHC accreditation experience.
- Knowledge of CMS Conditions for Coverage.
- Experience leading Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention programs.
