Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Pre-Op/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical recovery phase. This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia.
- Administer medications and IV infusions as prescribed.
- Perform IV insertion and manage IV lines effectively.
- Conduct airway management as necessary to ensure patient safety.
- Assist in discharge planning, providing education to patients and families regarding post-operative care
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in a PACU or similar nursing environment preferred.
- Proficiency in IV insertion and infusion techniques.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures and recovery.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes.
- Experience with airway management is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and documentation.
