SUMMARY: Under the supervision and guidance of the assigned manager the Teller accepts and processes transactions from the members by personal contact, mail and electronic instruction using friendly, accurate and prompt service. The Teller gains knowledge of other areas in the credit union and by cross-training to provide an expected level of exceptional member service. Works to create and maintain relationships with members. Responsible for providing an exceptional experience and contribute to improving the financial wellness of our members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver consistent exceptional member service by displaying sincere, outgoing, and aggressive friendliness. Smiling, acknowledging every member, introducing yourself, making eye contact, and thanking the member are all examples.
- Accurately accept and process member teller transactions. Adhere to credit union policies and procedures, including member identification program.
- Cash checks and withdrawals up to authorized limits; request authorization for transactions above assigned limits. Process branch and/or teller capture.
- Prepare daily settlements of teller cash and proof transactions.
- Using member focused skills, explain policies and procedures to members as applicable.
- Balance cash drawer to transactions daily.
- New account opening.
- Understand and comply with credit union policy, laws, regulations, and the credit union's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious member and/or account activity.
- Adhere to the employee handbook policy and procedures.
- Gathers and processes mail.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Sales experience, cash handling, member service, credit union, or other financial service provider experience preferred.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under supervision and guidance of the manager, the Teller I is responsible for assisting members in daily processing of financial transactions through exceptional, accurate and prompt service. The incumbent must have superior member service skills and cash handling ability; Exercises trustworthy service, courtesy, tact and diplomacy in dealing with others; Participates in business development through the attraction of new members and recognizes additional credit unioning needs of current members. Self-drive to grow in and develop knowledge and understanding within the credit union through various training opportunities in order to best service members is expected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Accept deposits, checks for cashing, loan payments, cashier's checks and cash advances; Request authorization for transactions above assigned limits.
- Examine checks for proper endorsements, verify legality of documents, identify counterfeit currency, and ensure proper account authority for individual completing transaction.
- Ensure proper control of cash drawer with the ability to balance daily.
- Successfully complete compliance training; Adhere to internal controls and procedures; Understand and comply with credit union policies as well as regulations and laws applicable to your position.
- Maintain member confidence and protect credit union operations through utmost confidentiality.
- Perform any other related duties as may be required or assigned.
