Two Rivers Community School seeks a practical and highly organized Director of Operations to oversee the school’s daily operational systems, facilities, and vendor relationships. This position works closely with the School Director to ensure the campus, business operations, and support systems function smoothly and efficiently.
In a small public charter school environment, this role requires a collaborative, solutions-oriented leader who ensures operational excellence while supporting the school’s mission. This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable managing the facilities, coordinating maintenance and improvements, and ensuring the school operates safely and efficiently for students and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Leadership
- Oversee daily non-instructional operations of the school including supervision of office staff and operational personnel
- Develop and maintain operational systems, procedures, and compliance protocols
- Support student enrollment, records management, and reporting requirements
- Serve as a member of the leadership team in strategic planning and decision-making
Facilities Management
- Oversee maintenance, safety, and daily functionality of the school campus
- Identify facility improvement needs, help plan upgrades and coordinate repairs.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Ensure the campus meets safety, compliance, and inspection requirements
Financial Support & Contracts/Vendor Management
- Assist the School Director with operational budgeting and expense tracking
- Support financial reporting and operational planning
- Monitor contracts, invoices, and vendor payments
- Manage service contracts (maintenance, technology, transportation, food service, etc.)
School Operations
- Support front office and operational logistics
- Assist with school events, scheduling, and campus operations
- Help ensure systems are in place for efficient daily school operations
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Experience in facilities management, operations, construction, or school/business management preferred
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and respond to operational challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in a small team environment where flexibility and initiative are important
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to move throughout school facilities and grounds
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to perform desk-based and computer work for extended periods
- The work environment includes office settings, school buildings, and outdoor grounds
- Occasional evening meetings and weekend work may be required
