What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Two Coast Living?
As a Lifeguard, you are there to ensure that our residents have a fun and safe environment in which to swim and relax.
The How…
Your focus is on the community’s residents. You ensure the Pool area is open on time each day, ready for resident use, and remains a safe environment during pool operating hours. This includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all supplies, equipment, and furniture to ensure guest safety and enjoyment.
Your friendly and efficient approach is perfect when greeting and engaging with residents and their guests while monitoring facility capacity throughout the shift to comply with operational standards and applicable safety regulations. You enjoy facilitating a fun but safe swimming experience, be it handing out pool equipment, towels, sunscreen, or anything else that is needed.
You will utilize your ARC certification, CPR and First Aid certifications to ensure swimmer safety by surveying the pool and conducting rescues, enforcing pool swimming rules, keeping track of each swimmer in the water, and administering first aid as needed. This role does require evidence of your successful completion of an in-water practical lifeguarding skills test and a minimum of two years of experience as a lifeguard.
You are safety-focused and closely monitor weather reports to make sure everyone remains safe, taking action to guide people out of the water and the area when dangerous conditions develop.

- You will work part-time, including weekend shifts, approximately 24 hours per week.

Required Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to stay alert, hydrated and energized throughout the day
- Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to survey a group of swimmers and isolate those needing assistance
- Treat all current and future residents with the highest level of concern and care
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure all essential duties are fulfilled
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write and speak clearly
- Treat everyone with respect and dignity, accept responsibility and take ownership of tasks, follow through on commitments, take initiative and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Education and Experience
- Current ARC certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Evidence of successful completion of an in-water practical skills test
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in lifeguarding
- Must be at least 18 years of age

- Ability to remain calm under pressure to administer aid to those in distress
- Physically fit and an excellent swimmer; ability to lift children and adults out of indoor/outdoor pools and spas
