Survey Technician

TWM is seeking an experienced Survey Technician to support our industry-leading Geospatial Department. We are looking for driven individuals interested in learning and using the latest technology to provide innovative solutions to our clients.

Experience Level: Entry-Level

Schedule: Part Time, 30 to 40 hours / week, with the possibility of overtime

Salary: $20 - $25 per hour – salary is commensurate with experience

Location: Based in Chattanooga, TN

Essential job functions:

• Assist Survey Crew Chiefs and Professional Land Surveyors with field surveying activities on projects.
• Set and recover survey monuments, property corners, control points, and construction staking points.
• Assist with establishing horizontal and vertical control networks.
• Load, unload, and transport survey equipment, supplies, and materials to and from project sites.
• Maintain survey vehicles, equipment, and tools in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Clear brush, vegetation, and other obstructions as necessary to facilitate survey operations.
• Follow established safety procedures and participate in company safety programs and training.
• Communicate effectively with crew members, project managers, contractors, property owners, and the public.
• Perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Previous surveying, construction, utility locating, or outdoor field experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license required
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to pass drug/alcohol test and background check is required
