TWM is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to support our surveying and geospatial operations in Tennessee. This position will assist with staff management, project management and delivery, workload coordination, and day-to-day survey operations in our Franklin office.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with experience managing survey personnel and operations while maintaining high standards of quality and client service. This individual will work closely with field and office staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget while supporting the continued growth and success of TWM’s survey team.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, with the possibility of additional hours
Salary: $110,000-$130,000 – salary is commensurate with experience
Location: Based in Franklin, TN
Essential job functions:
- Assist with the management and coordination of survey operations in Tennessee
- Supervise, mentor, and develop survey field and office staff
- Coordinate personnel schedules, workloads, and resource allocation to support project demands.
- Manage day-to-day survey operations, project schedules, and deliverables
- Oversee project quality and perform or coordinate QA/QC reviews of survey deliverables
- Coordinate with field crews and office staff to ensure efficient project execution and communication
- Conduct site/field visits as needed
- Collaborate with Transportation, Land Development, Structural, Water/Wastewater, and Geospatial staff to support multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Oversee survey equipment, technology, vehicles, and resource needs
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications Desired:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred. Significant survey operations and staff management experience will be considered in lieu of licensure.
- 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in land surveying, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, field-to-finish workflows, and survey operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop survey personnel
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience coordinating survey field and office teams
- Dedication to fostering teamwork and promoting TWM’s culture
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
