What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Observation Technician position at TWM Engineering & Geospatial Services?
TWM is seeking an experienced professional in construction field services to perform construction observation services. We are looking for a motivated individual with the experience and skills to immediately contribute and handle a variety of projects.
Experience Level: 2-5 years
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours / week, with the possibility of additional hours
Location: Based in Peoria, IL
Salary: $25.00-$30.00/hr. -- Salary is commensurate with experience
Essential job functions:
· Observe and document the construction of transportation-related projects, such as roadways and trails, water system projects, such as water main and plant upgrades, while representing the project owner/TWM client.
· Check that projects are built to plans and specifications
· Coordinate with office staff and contractors
· Conduct site/field visits as needed
Qualifications Desired:
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus
· At least 2 years of experience in civil construction.
· HigConstruction Observation experience with one or more of the following entities is a plus: IDOT, Local Public Agencies, Utility Companies.
· Strong coordination and communication skills, along with ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and the public
· Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively
· Willingness to work hard
· Attention to detail
