Outdoor Light Installer

Overview
As a Seasonal Outdoor Light Installer specializing in winter and Christmas displays, your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, and repair outdoor lighting decorations. You will work in residential and commercial settings, transforming outdoor spaces into festive and visually appealing environments during the holiday season.

Responsibilities
1. Installation of Outdoor Lighting:

• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision for holiday lighting displays.
• Plan and design lighting layouts for outdoor spaces, including trees, buildings, and landscapes.
• Install various types of lighting fixtures, such as string lights, LED displays, and animated props, adhering to safety standards and guidelines.

2. Maintenance and Inspection:

• Conduct regular inspections of installed lighting to ensure functionality and safety.
• Replace faulty bulbs, repair damaged wiring, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Keep an inventory of spare parts and tools to facilitate quick repairs and replacements.

3. Client Communication:

• Maintain clear and professional communication with clients regarding project timelines, updates, and any additional services required.
• Address client concerns or requests promptly and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction.

4. Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working at heights and using electrical equipment.
• Ensure proper grounding and insulation of wiring to prevent electrical hazards.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow best practices to minimize workplace accidents.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and client interactions. Prepare reports on job progress, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in outdoor lighting installation or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and wiring techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use extension ladders and have comfortability with heights by completed jobs on roof tops.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak season.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work at heights using ladders or lifts.
• Comfortable working outdoors in cold weather conditions.
• Stamina and endurance to perform tasks requiring physical exertion over extended periods.

Benefits:

• Full time hours available Mid-Oct Thru Mid-Dec

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Experience:

• Electrical troubleshooting: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Portage, MI 49002 (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Portage, MI 49002: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
