What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Monitor (Part Time) position at Twinfield Union School?
Twinfield Union School in a preschool through Grade 12 public school located in Plainfield. The students come from Marshfield and Plainfield. We have an opening for a Bus Monitor for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The Bus Monitor will work up to 3.5 hours a day, 17 hours per week.
The Bus Monitor supports the safe transportation of students to and from school. This role focuses on student safety, supervision, and behavior support while assisting the bus driver to maintain a calm and orderly environment. This position is to help specific students to successfully ride the bus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise students while boarding, riding, and exiting the school bus
Ensure student follow bus safety rules and expectations
Assist younger students and students with disabilities as needed (e.g., seatbelts, harnesses, mobility support)
Monitor student behavior and intervene using positive behavior strategies
Communicate concerns or incidents to the bus driver and appropriate school staff
Assist with emergency procedures and evacuations when necessary
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Help ensure accurate attendance and student drop-off procedures
Support safe transitions between school, bus, and home settings
