The Role
As a Line/Prep Cook at Twine by Daisies and Vines, line cook/prep cook for a wine and cigar bar restaurant is responsible for performing a range of kitchen duties, including preparing food ingredients, cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and quality standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, properly storing food, and following all food and safety and sanitation guidelines. Key tasks involve setting up cooking stations, chopping and preparing ingredients, cooking menu items during service, and assisting with inventory and kitchen cleanup
Job Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Wash, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients according to recipes.
- Recipe Execution: Cook and assemble menu items, including sauces, dressings, and simple dishes, following established standards.
- Station Setup & Stocking: Set up and stock assigned cooking stations with necessary supplies and ingredients before service begins.
- Cooking: Prepare and cook food items using various methods (grilling, frying, sautéing) to meet quality and consistency standards.
- Plating & Presentation: Plate dishes attractively, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards for quality and presentation.
- Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation and kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Food Storage: Properly handle, store, and label ingredients and prepared food items.
- Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient levels, assist with inventory counts, and communicate shortages to the chef or manager.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment after use.
