Overview
As a Medical Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within various healthcare settings. Your expertise will support patients with diverse needs, including those in assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care. You will be the backbone of our healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care while maintaining accurate medical documentation and adhering to best practices.
What you’ll do
- Provide compassionate and attentive patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Administer medications and perform tube feeding as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance with medical protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and document changes in patient conditions using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other developmental disabilities.
- Conduct catheter care and maintain accurate medical records to support continuity of care.
- Engage with patients in memory care activities to enhance cognitive function and emotional well-being.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Basic qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to effectively communicate patient needs and treatment plans.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or acute care settings.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Previous work with people with disabilities or in senior care environments.
