Health & Safety Coordinator - Midland, TX
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain workplace health, safety, and environmental programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, conducting training and safety audits, investigating incidents, managing safety records, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial, construction, utility, energy, or oil and gas environments and a strong commitment to employee safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and improve health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Deliver employee safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and compliance programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, tribal, state, federal, and client requirements.
- Prepare safety reports, analyze performance metrics, and recommend improvements.
- Support emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, and return-to-work initiatives.
- Partner with supervisors and employees to promote safe work practices.
Qualifications
- Certification in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of occupational health and safety experience.
- Experience conducting safety training, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Certifications CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30, H2S Awareness, SafeLand USA, BBP, AED, CHSO, CESHO, ASP, or CSP certifications are highly desirable.
