Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical billing, and handle collections with accuracy and professionalism.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
- Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and care plans.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and take detailed messages.
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic flow and timely patient care delivery.
- Uphold confidentiality standards according to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical information.
Experience
- Prior clinic experience or medical office management experience preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare processes.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to type 10-key accurately is essential.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor in fast-paced healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of health insurance procedures and clinical confidentiality policies is essential for success in this role.
