The IT Manager, Application and Business Intelligence is responsible for leading the support, development, integration, and optimization of business applications and reporting solutions across the organization. This role partners closely with business leaders, operations, finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and IT teams to ensure systems and data solutions support business goals, improve decision-making, and drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Application Management
- Manage and support core business applications, including ERP, MES, reporting, and departmental systems.
- Oversee application configuration, upgrades, integrations, testing, documentation, and user support.
- Partner with business teams to identify system improvements and process automation opportunities.
- Ensure application reliability, performance, security, and compliance with company standards.
- Manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
- Lead the development and maintenance of business intelligence dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, key performance indicators, and data needs.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting platforms.
- Support data-driven decision-making through effective visualization, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Promote best practices for data governance, reporting standards, and self-service analytics.
- Lead, coach, and develop application support and business intelligence team members.
- Manage project priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects involving IT systems, process improvements, and data initiatives.
- Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor service levels, support procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
- Serve as a trusted technology partner to business departments.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and practical solutions.
- Evaluate current processes and recommend system or reporting improvements.
- Provide training, documentation, and user guidance for supported applications and BI tools.
- Support management efforts related to new systems, upgrades, and process changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5 years of experience supporting business applications, ERP/MES systems, business intelligence platforms, or enterprise reporting solutions.
- 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or project leadership experience.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of databases, data structures, reporting, integrations, and application support processes.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system or reporting solutions.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in manufacturing, paper, packaging, distribution, or process-industry environments.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, ETL processes, APIs, or application integrations.
- Experience with ITIL, change management, cybersecurity standards, or data governance practices.
- Project management certification or experience managing system implementation projects.
- Primarily office-based with routine travel to manufacturing and company locations as needed.
- After-hours support for system upgrades, outages, or critical business needs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment when visiting operational sites.
