Twin Rivers Paper is seeking a qualified individual to join the team as an Operations Assistant to provide qualified technical support for paper operations in the areas of wet end chemistry, processes, felts and operational excellence to streamline operations and improve efficiency. The candidate will support team goals and objectives, while ensuring mills produce quality specialty paper products that meet customer expectations in a safe and timely manner.
DUTIES
- Optimize paper mill production, and reduce machine variance
- Manage and optimize chemical pump flows and Manufacturing Intelligence (Mi) link
- Setup and utilize the tools of Mi, Historian and Quality Control Systems to achieve maximum efficiency on the paper machines
- Trend and work to minimize paper machine setup times
- Work to resolve papermaking problems, formulate and configure immediate and long term solutions
- Be a technical resource to operations and provide technical training
- Profile trending and optimization
- Work with an array of vendors and sources to maintain awareness of newest applicable products and applications as they pertain to mill operations
- Assist with the optimization of the paper machine winders and re-winders including trim set and roll structure
- Develop programs and work with vendors to optimize wet end chemistry and machine fabrics
- Provide technical assistance and counsel to the Mill Manager regarding daily operations
- Provide leadership during shut downs, outages and rebuilds
- Develop grade optimization run on all machines to obtain best machine efficiency
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of exposure/experience with paper making processes
- General knowledge of maintenance technologies
- Current knowledge and abilities in the use and application of computer systems and the willingness to obtain further training as necessary
- Ability to motivate subordinates and communicate effectively
- Demonstrated willingness to be proactive when exploring new solutions and problem solving
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
