Education and/ or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum 2 year’s New Car and/or Fleet/Commercial sales experience (Preferred)
- Prior New Vehicle Ford sales experience (Preferred)
Essential Duties:
- Devote himself/herself to guaranteeing high customer satisfaction
- Determine each customer's wants and needs within a vehicle by asking and listening for key points
- Determine which businesses and customers to search to buy vehicles for the dealership and its operations staff.
- Check condition of vehicles scheduled for purchase and/or delivery on a lift.
- Attend weekly & monthly sales meetings
- Maintain vehicle owner follow – up that encourages repeat and referral business that contributes to customer satisfaction
- Maintain a prospect development system
- Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devise a strategy to meet those goals
- Report to the Sales Managers regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews and analyses
- Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time
- Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep up to date on the technological changes
- Complete all factory tests and become certified Ford New Car sales consultant
- Know and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales
- Learn the products and services offered, including the sales terms (e.g. special features, return and warranty policies
- Find prospective customers and new target segments
Skills
- Proven work experience as a New Car sales consultant or other person to person sales
- Familiarity with CRM programs would be a plus.
- Prior New car selling and/or buying would be a plus.
- Ability to gather and interpret data
- Organizational and analytical skills
- Communication skills
Qualifications:
- Must be legally and technically able to safely operate company and customer-owned vehicles. SEATS BELTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE WORN 100% OF THE TIME WHILE OPERATING ANY COMPANY OR CUSTOMER-OWNED VEHICLES
- Must be able to be insured by the company insurance policy
- Must follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and information
- Able to demonstrate excellent communications skills
- Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards
- Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions
- Certification as Ford Sales professional and passing grades on all in house tests
