Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Flagger (Beginner level through intermediate and beyond) to ensure safety and efficient traffic management at construction sites. This role is vital for maintaining safe work environments and smooth traffic flow around active construction zones. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction site operations and be familiar with heavy equipment and utility locating. Prior experience with construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, and graders is a plus. Duties
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using proper signaling techniques
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers
- Assist with the safe movement of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and graders
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with construction crews and drivers to coordinate site access
- Support utility locating operations to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving activities
- Assist in paving operations and other construction-related tasks as needed
- Maintain clear documentation of traffic control activities and incidents
Experience
- Prior construction site experience is preferred, especially in roles involving traffic management or flagging
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, front loader truck, and dump truck is advantageous
- Familiarity with utility locating procedures and safety standards on construction sites
- Experience with paving projects or general construction activities is beneficial
- Certification or training related to flagging or traffic control is a plus but not required
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy equipment is desirable
