What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bridgeport Machinist - 2nd Shift position at TWIN MRO?
TWIN MRO, a growing, 100% employee owned turbine component overhaul & repair facility, is seeking a Bridgeport Machinist to work on 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machines (either manual lathes or Bridgeport machines) to produce high-quality parts and components. Other manual machine experience & CNC exposure is also preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines to perform tasks such as milling, lathing, grinding etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining operations
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate efficiently
- Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize machining processes
Skills:
- Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring equipment like calipers
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
- Understanding of tooling selection and maintenance
- Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations related to machining processes
- Proficiency in basic programming and making program edits for CNC machines a plus
