Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, client-centered mental health services to a diverse population, including children, adolescents, adults, and couples across various levels of care.

The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic services within multiple settings, including outpatient therapy, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Therapeutic Rehabilitation Programs (TRP). This position offers the opportunity to support clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs while utilizing evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and individualized treatment approaches.

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will assist clients in navigating life challenges, developing healthy coping strategies, improving relationships, and achieving personalized treatment goals. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and best practices in behavioral health.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions using modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, SFT, IFS, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and trauma-focused approaches.
• Deliver crisis intervention and crisis management services to ensure client safety during acute episodes.
• Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to medical documentation standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including CSA, PSS, case managers, medical professionals, and educators—to coordinate comprehensive care for clients with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.

Requirements

• Must maintain a valid and active professional license in the state of Kentucky as one of the following: CSW, LPCA, LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW etc.
• Must remain in good standing with the appropriate licensing board and maintain all required continuing education and renewal requirements.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of ethical standards, clinical documentation requirements, and applicable state regulations.
• Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in an outpatient setting.
• Demonstrates effective time management by prioritizing responsibilities, organizing workload efficiently, and consistently completing documentation within the required Kentucky Administrative Regulation (KAR) timeframes. Maintains timely, accurate, and compliant documentation while balancing clinical responsibilities and administrative tasks.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, behavior management, and psychopharmacology.
• Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards.
• Proficiency in telehealth therapy platforms and electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems; experience delivering telehealth services is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, clinical ethical guidelines, medical terminology, and medical records management.
• Experience providing therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and couples.
• Experience with trauma-focused treatment and evidence-based practices.
• Experience working with Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation requirements.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
• Strong understanding of treatment planning, medical necessity, and clinical compliance requirements.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
