Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
- Collaborate with the PMC teacher to provide necessary support for PMC students;
- Demonstrate specific skills in preparation for the NAC exam;
- Assist students in becoming proficient in skills required of an NAC;
- Conduct skill building sessions with small groups of students;
- Assess student progress with skill proficiency;
- Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for PMC students to follow.
- Communicate frequently and honestly with the PMC teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current NAC and the ability to tutor students in technical skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students.
- Desired effective characteristics include: flexibility, enthusiasm, a willingness to develop relationships and learn new skills.
- Current enrollment as a college student is desired, but not required.
Under the direct supervision of the Professional Medical Careers (PMC) teacher, the Tutor will take an active role in supporting student learning with required skills for the Nursing Assistant Certification.
