RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Support the development of individual and team skills through effective coaching techniques.
- Help implement game strategies and assist during games, providing guidance and support to players.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players.
- Monitor and promote student-athlete academic performance and behavior, ensuring eligibility and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and player progress.
- Assist in organizing and managing team events, including practices, games, and fundraising activities.
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other coaches to enhance the overall athletic program.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous coaching experience or playing experience in football, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, players, and parents.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the football season.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
