Summary
We are seeking a skilled Integrated Access Systems Technician to join our team at Twin City Hardware. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems including alarm systems and fire alarms. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installing, troubleshooting and repairing low voltage systems and devices
- Setup and program card access and IP security camera networks
- Lay, route and secure cable following best practice and code requirements
- Install, mount and configure various electronic access control and surveillance devices
- Communicate with Sales group regarding project process and issues
- Train customers on features, functions and operation of installed electronic access control and surveillance systems
- Assist Mechanical team with hardware, door and frame work orders
- Keep IAS Manager updated on work order status
- Participate in after- hours on-call program rotation
- Provide preventative maintenance inspections at customer job sites
- Remote support for customer’s electronic access control and surveillance systems
- Mentor IAS Tech Apprentice and IAS Tech I
Requirements
- Good communication skills in both verbal and written form
- Available for weekday overnight travel as necessary
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions
- Experience with hand and power tools (hammer drill, measuring tools, power drill, circular saw, etc )
- Intermediate knowledge of industry terminology, preferred but not required
- Experience with resolving electrical controls and electronic wiring issues
- Minnesota Power Limited Technician (PLT) License
- Working knowledge of computer software with Windows/ Google based programs
- Favorable results of customer & company required background check
- Favorable results from a drug screen & physical
Working Conditions
This position involves traveling to customer job sites in all weather conditions. Majority of the work day is spent on your feet. Includes; ladder climbing, push/ pull, reaching overhead, and standing. Lift 10-50lbs regularly and 100lbs occasionally.
Company provides a vehicle to use during work hours. All hand and power tools will be provided by the company, and will be retained by the company.
