Wire EDM Machinist

Position Summary
Twin City EDM is seeking a skilled and motivated Wire EDM Machinist to join our growing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Wire EDM machines to manufacture precision components that meet customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision machining, blueprint reading, and inspection techniques, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings.
- Perform machine offsets and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other inspection tools.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues as needed.
- Maintain quality standards and ensure parts meet customer specifications.
- Complete required production and quality documentation.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of Wire EDM machining experience preferred, or completion of a machining-related technical program.
- Understanding of machining principles, tooling, and blueprint reading.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete production documentation.
