Food Service Supervisor
I. Qualifications
A. High School Diploma/GED required
B. One (1) year experience as a Line Cook, preferably in an institutional setting
C. Two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in an institutional (school, residential) setting
D. Knowledge of USDA National School Breakfast/Lunch Program
E. Knowledge of State Food Service Health & Sanitation regulations
II. Organizational Relationships
A. Reports to the Food Service Supervisor and in his/her absence, the Food Service Coordinator.
B. Interacts with all staff and residents.
III. Description of Key Responsibilities
General Summary: Works with Assistant Director and Food Service Coordinator to manage the GICH food service department. Provides supervision to Food Service Employees.
1. Plans, schedules, prioritizes and assigns work to Food Service Emloyees
2. Supervises and/or performs duties related to storage, preparation and cooking of food for residents, utilizing cycle menus and standardized recipes
3. Supervises meal service to residents, ensuring portion control and proper food handling procedures are followed
4. Maintains a safe, clean, and sanitary work environment. Ensures all food service equipment is properly opearted and maintained.
5. Performs administrative and recordkeeping duties related to the food service operation in accordance with USDA standards
6. Orders food items and kitchen supplies to support menus and departmental budgets. Maintains inventory of food items and kitchen supplies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,568.00 - $40,000.00 per year
