Twin Cedars Youth & Family Services is seeking a fun, energetic, and engaging Activity Leader to join our team!
Job Summary:
The Activity Leader is responsible for overseeing the implementation of structured, fun, and creative coping and independent living skills activities. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Education, Health, or a related field and experience working with children ages 10 thru 17 years of age
Essential Functions:
1. Provide supervision, instruction and verbal/physical participation in all activities.
- Provides demonstration of all activities
- Provides clear instructions of all activities
2. Encourage participation in all activities
- Uses a variety of approaches to encourage participation
- provides on and off campus experiences to enhance physical well-being
3. Monitor youths who are not participating in activities
- Assign youths appropriate alternatives
- Maintain open communication with campus staff
4. Express the importance of physical and mental wellness activities
- Display the benefits of physical and mental wellness activities through various sources
5. Responsible for knowing and keeping updates on youth's level of participation
- Participate in Team meetings to get and give updates on youths
- Report information immediately to HSP, Cottage Supervisors, and Program Director of any physical or health concerns with the youth
6. Adhere to all PREA standards
- Help educate youth on PREA expectations and ways to report
- Encourage youth to participate in therapy to report any PREA related concerns
- Report any PREA related concerns to Cottage Supervisors and Program Director
7. Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Minimum of (3) years experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility preferred.
- Experience with children from 10 years through 17 years old preferred
- Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Education, Health Sciences, Wellness, or related fields.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
