Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or other social services field. Entry Level (Coordinator) requires some work experience or internship in social services working with children/families. Promotion level for experienced & credentialed can be considered at start or after successful performace as Specialist level.

Candidates with experience in foster home recruitment/approval or foster care system are encouraged to apply! Starting salary determined by experience level within the stated range, with strong consideration of certifications in GA required pre-service and home study assessment curriculums.

Primary Role is to recruit, train and approve new foster homes in and around Middle Georgia. Candidates with existing community connections in Houston County encouraged to apply. We have dedicated position for retention tasks, our focus with this position is on recruitment/development tasks.

Primary Responsibilities Related to Development of New Foster Home Resources:

  • Develops new foster parent resources in accordance with goals set by program leadership.
  • Active community engagement to recruit new foster parent homes.
  • Implements advertising/marketing strategies to generate interest and educate community members about the need for foster parents.
  • Schedules and implements all pre-service training for prospective foster parents as directed.
  • Completes a comprehensive assessment of prospective foster families and submits completed foster parent files for approval to the SAFE Certified Supervisor.
  • Responsible for entering initial approval documents into state’s database.
  • May perform referral management and admissions, as needed, along with other duties, as assigned.
  • Serves the agency, program, team members, foster parents and children in any way necessary for the purpose of ensuring foster parent support, program and/or agency stability and growth, as needed and directed by program leadership.

Retention of Existing Homes, assigned as needed

Responsible for ensuring retention of foster homes through timely completion of the annual review process for foster homes assigned. Responsible for ensuring foster parents complete the required number of annual in-service training hours, with topics related to the population served. Provides a range of supportive activities that assist foster parents in maintaining full approval status as well as satisfaction with agency, including but not limited to communication, group facilitation, in-service training coordination, event planning, event hosting and problem solving.

Successful Attributes Persons successful in the role of recruiting and retaining foster parents have skills/characteristics that demonstrate ability to:

  • Organization Skills
  • Proficient in the use of computers, software and internet applications.
  • Interpersonal engagement with adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • History of positive and supportive working relationships with others.
  • Confidence and skill in conducting training/public speaking.
  • Demonstration of writing skills for narrative home studies/social summaries using correct grammar, descriptive detail and persuasive language, without AI assistance.
  • Plan and organize work to meet targeted goals and deadlines efficiently.
  • Show empathy, compassion, understanding and sensitivity to the needs of others.
  • Show enthusiasm and tenacity in working toward and meeting goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
