Duties and responsibilities
- Use general knowledge regarding CNC machining, machine shop theory, and shop mathematics along with Twigg procedures to build quality components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, routing instructions, and specifications to determine the dimensions and tolerances of parts to be produced.
- Follow routing instructions and understand order of operations to be performed.
- Perform preliminary equipment checks to prepare for production.
- Perform set-ups using set-up sheets and drawings.
- Set tools, offsets, compensations, and controls.
- Monitor machine feed rate, speed, depth and angle of cut during operations.
- Use precision measuring equipment to ensure all details are produced to meet tolerances.
- Contact Quality Engineering for first-piece inspection and make adjustments if necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation at all times.
- Program equipment by entering instructions including zeros and reference points.
- Document activities by completing production and quality logs via station tablets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial production machining using CNC machining equipment/systems.
- Punctuality, dependability, safety, and process improvements.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills across all levels.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- High school diploma or trade school diploma.
- 5 years of related experience or equivalent.
- Experience in programming.
- Technical degree in manufacturing, machining, programming, or equivalent.
