Construction Estimator – Mechanical/Industrial (HVAC estimating exp. req.) Description
Our client in the construction industry is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join their team in Clinton, MD. In this role, you’ll be putting together cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems on commercial and industrial projects ranging from about $1.5M to $20M. You'll be one of two Estimators on the team, reporting directly to the President and working closely with project managers, purchasing, and the field to make sure estimates are thorough and aligned. They’re looking for someone with solid experience estimating mechanical systems, plus familiarity with regional vendors and suppliers in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. The ideal candidate brings strong technical know-how, accuracy, and good communication skills to help support successful project bids. Construction Estimator – Mechanical/Industrial (HVAC estimating exp. req.) Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems
• Review project specifications and drawings
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather input and ensure alignment
• Develop clear, detailed, and competitive proposals and bid packages
• Stay informed on material costs, labor rates, subcontractor pricing, etc.
• Utilize estimating software and excel effectively
• Assist in refining estimating procedures and sharing best practices
• Participate in bid reviews and post-bid evaluations with leadership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Construction Estimator – Mechanical/Industrial (HVAC estimating exp. req.) Qualifications
• Estimating experience in industrial or commercial HVAC required
• Well-versed utilizing estimating software required
• Ability to work in the office required
