What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Twelvemonth?
Summary of Position:
Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Tell culinary stores about Twelvemonth and our ethos of vegetable-forward creativity and sustainability. Each bartender's primary objective is to show our guests a marvelous time that exceeds their expectations such that they will want to return again and again.
Duties & Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
- Welcome and greet guests with warm and caring demeanor. Make all our guests feel comfortable and inform them of beverage and dining options. Inform first time guests about our ethos of vegetable-forward creativity and sustainability.
- Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
- Possess deep menu knowledge to answer detailed questions about allergens and product sources.
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy. Be an ‘Ambassador’ of Twelvemoth.
- Take beverage and food orders from guests and enter orders in our point-of-sale system.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and zero proof drinks consistent with Twelvemonth’s standard drink recipes.
- Learn names and personally recognize our regulars.
- Keep bar patron areas clean and manicured.
- Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
- Wash and sterilize glassware.
- Build batch recipes to consistent with Twelvemonth's standard batch recipes.
- Prepare garnishes for drinks.
- Check juices daily for freshness.
- Keep accurate inventory of all batches, syrups, shrubs etc.
- Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
- Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to management team.
- Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
- Communicate with management about breaks during shifts, vacation, and other scheduling needs.
- Be an essential part of a positive work environment.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Twelvemonth as directed by the management team or immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Sunday shifts required
- Be 21 years of age.
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate point of sale system
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Craft cocktail experience a big plus
