About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-obsessed Project Manager to orchestrate product development from concept through launch. You’ll run the day-to-day of our NPI roadmap—owning schedules, cross-functional alignment, risk management, and stakeholder follow-through. Mastery of Asana for complex, multi-track hardware/accessory or tech-retail programs is required.
What You’ll Do
- Drive end-to-end project execution across the product lifecycle (discovery → definition → prototyping → EVT/DVT/PVT → pilot → retail launch).
- Build and maintain Asana project structures: scope, timelines, dependencies, resourcing, RACI, and portfolio dashboards.
- Facilitate key ceremonies: PRD/kickoff, design reviews, readiness reviews, change control/ECO syncs, and post-mortems—capturing decisions and next steps.
- Track deliverables with rigorous attention to detail: requirements, BOM revisions, packaging/labeling specs, compliance gates, artwork versions, and test reports.
- Partner closely with Industrial Design, Engineering, QA, Packaging, Supply Chain/Ops, Marketing, Sales/Channel, and Finance—plus external manufacturers, labs, and agencies.
- Coordinate DFM/DFX with suppliers; schedule builds and manage samples for testing, certifications, photo/PR needs, and retail line review submissions.
- Own risk logs and mitigation plans; surface trade-offs with data, options, and clear recommendations.
- Align launch readiness: forecasting inputs, POs, inventory dates, routing guides, content syndication, merchandising resets, and ecom go-live checklists.
- Report status crisply at executive and working-team levels via dashboards, burndowns, and milestone readouts.
- Measure outcomes against targets (timeline, cost, quality, channel readiness) and drive continuous improvement of PD processes and templates.
What You’ll Bring
- 4 years of project/program management in product development for tech retail, consumer electronics, or adjacent categories.
- Proven Asana power user: templates, custom fields, rules/automation, workload, dashboards, and portfolio reporting.
- Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail—you keep owners accountable and nothing slips.
- Familiarity with PD artifacts: PRDs, requirements, design briefs, CAD handoff, packaging and labeling specs, test plans, certifications (e.g., FCC/CE/UL), and retailer compliance.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing partners; comfort with NDAs, SOWs, and schedule management across time zones.
- Strong facilitation, dependency management, and change control discipline; ability to turn ambiguity into a clear plan.
- Confident with spreadsheets and basic analytics for tracking budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; succinct, structured updates.
Bonus Points
- CPG experience (packaging, lot codes, compliance, planograms)—a plus but not required.
- Jira, Smartsheet, or Monday.com familiarity; basic Adobe CC or 3D viewer experience for asset reviews.
Tools You’ll Use
- Asana (required), Microsoft 365, Slack, spreadsheet/BI tools; bonus for PLM (Arena/Propel), PIM/DAM, Salsify/GS1.
Work Model & Location
- Primary location: Charleston, SC. Open to onsite or remote applicants within the United States.
- Occasional travel for build events, vendor visits, or team onsite weeks (≈5–10%).
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience; performance-based bonus.
- Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision), 401(k), paid time off, and company holidays.
- Equipment stipend and professional development support.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a brief note highlighting two product development projects you’ve led—include scope, team size, build stages (EVT/DVT/PVT), tooling (especially Asana), and any launch results or artifacts.
