Team Wellness Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-focused support to individuals receiving behavioral health services. This position uses lived experience, encouragement, and practical support to help members work toward their individual recovery goals and become more engaged in their treatment and community.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer support, encouragement, and recovery-focused guidance to members.
- Assist members with goals and objectives identified in their Individual Plan of Service (IPOS).
- Participate in care coordination and development of the IPOS.
- Encourage and support member participation in treatment and recovery-related services.
- Assist members with completing paperwork and group-related activities.
- Support members with housing, vocational, and other community-based needs.
- Provide education and support related to self-advocacy, wellness, life skills, goal setting, and decision-making.
- Complete timely and accurate progress notes for services provided.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and other professionals to support members' overall treatment needs.
- Provide member transportation when necessary.
- Participate in routine supervision and required training.
- Maintain required documentation and productivity standards within the electronic medical record.
- Maintain Peer Support certification and complete required annual training.
- Complete incident reports and other required documentation within established timeframes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of State-approved Peer Support training and certification required.
- Ability to use lived experience to support and encourage individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Demonstrated commitment to recovery-oriented values and principles.
- Friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance required within 90 days of accepting the position.
