Job Overview
TWC Millwork is looking for a Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced millwork facility. This role is responsible for managing production of wood mouldings and components, ensuring material flow, meeting output goals, and coordinating closely with shipping and other company locations to keep orders and transfers moving on schedule.
Maintaining a safe work environment is a core responsibility of this role alongside production performance and quality.
This is a hands-on role. You will be on the floor daily, making sure machines are running, crews are producing, and product is moving through each stage efficiently and correctly.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Duties
- Oversee daily production activities to meet quality, safety, and efficiency goals
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Oversee production of moulding and wood components from raw lumber through finished product
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure production schedules are followed and adjust as needed
- Coordinate with shipping and other company locations to ensure orders and interfacility transfers are completed on time
- Manage production schedules based on demand, inventory levels, and priorities
- Supervise production personnel, including training, and evaluating performance
- Monitor machine output, downtime, and overall production performance
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality checks
- Ensure proper setup and safe operation of equipment including moulders, rip saws, and related machinery
- Maintain consistent product quality and ensure specifications are met
- Work closely with receiving and material flow to ensure production is supplied with the right materials
- Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently and address issues quickly
- Identify bottlenecks and adjust workflow to keep production moving
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Drive continuous improvement to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve output
- Track production metrics and report performance to leadership
- Address issues on the floor quickly to minimize downtime
- Assist in production as needed and directed
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing management role required
- Experience in millwork, wood manufacturing, or similar industry strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage production in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production flow, material handling, and workflow management
- Experience working with moulders, saws, or similar wood processing equipment preferred
- Strong computer proficiency required; must be able to manage production schedules, track performance, and generate reports
- Experience with production tracking, scheduling, and inventory systems
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety standards and best practices
- Ability to analyze production data and implement effective solutions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining quality and output
- Good communication skills across departments and company locations
- Bilingual is a plus
- Ability to hold a team accountable and keep production on schedule
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly
