Science at TVT

Through the creation of authentic opportunities to explore science, the Department aims to promote scientific literacy in an environment that is hands-on, collaborative, integrative, inquiry-driven, and rooted in discovery. Science courses are designed to provide students with introductory knowledge in Earth, Life, and Physical as well as science practices such as asking questions, using models, planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, using mathematical and computational thinking, constructing explanations, engaging in arguments from evidence, and obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of adolescent development and pedagogical best practices.
