Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics, mechanical systems, plumbing connections, and refrigeration components using hand tools, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure reliable operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct comprehensive system inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate; perform equipment troubleshooting as needed.
- Collaborate with clients to explain system issues clearly and recommend effective solutions; provide excellent customer service throughout every interaction.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and reports to ensure accurate documentation of all activities performed.
Skills
- Extensive construction experience combined with hands-on service technician expertise in HVAC systems. 3 years
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles, schematics, electrical systems, building automation controls, and plumbing.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC/R equipment including refrigeration systems such as ammonia refrigeration units.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing mechanical systems repair, boiler operation, appliance repair, and property maintenance tasks.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters (including ohmmeters), and other diagnostic instruments.
- Experience with HVAC system installation projects from start to finish; capable of reading technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism during client interactions.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; familiarity with electrical diagnostics and building automation systems is preferred.
- Ability to operate a
driver’s license or equivalent for transportation between job sites. - Mechanical or mechanic experience that supports efficient equipment repair and maintenance activities.
