TV Insider, along with its sibling sites Swooon.com and RemindMagazine.com, is a premium entertainment destination for pop culture and television fans. We are looking for an Editor to join our team and create visually engaging content that grows our audience across various digital channels. This position will be an essential member of the team as it continues to grow.
Position Overview
This role is a blend of hands-on video production and creative multimedia design. You will be responsible for shooting, editing, and producing a high volume of high-quality news and franchise videos for our websites, social media, and syndication partners. The ideal candidate has a track record of editing high-production-value entertainment content, killer design skills, and strong storytelling capabilities. You will work closely with the editorial, social, video, product, and marketing teams to bring our content to life visually.
Key Responsibilities
- Shoot (virtual, in-studio, or on-location), edit, and post-produce a high volume of high-quality video footage.
- Work with the head of video and marketing/sales teams to deliver videos that drive views and engagement.
- Intelligently incorporate audio, video, still images, and text into compelling visual content.
- Handle all aspects of post-production, including adding graphics, chyrons, and music, as well as posting to various platforms like YouTube.
- Work with the social media team to deliver video cuts specifically optimized for social sites.
- Handle technical issues related to video production, including lighting and audio recording.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience editing and posting high-quality video in a professional environment, preferably for a digital publisher or entertainment media brand. Shooting experience is a plus.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in video editing and a strong sense of typography, layout, composition, and color theory.
- Fluency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Proficiency with digital cinema, or mirrorless cameras, as well as Zoom recording.
- Working knowledge of best practices for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Experience with designing for motion and animation is a plus.
