- Must be able to read, understand, and interpret structural steel drawings.
- Identify different material types accurately.
- Communicate with Foreman, Supervisors and Managers.
- Communicate non-conformance issues clearly to fitters, welders, painters, and loaders.
- Make sure welders are following welding procedure and producing quality.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
- Work systematically along with fitters and welders in a prioritized fashion.
- Follow company safety guidelines, procedures and policies.
- Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- Monitor production to ensure deadlines are met.
- Uphold company and quality standards.
- Coach welders and fitters to enhance production quality.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel quality control.
- Strong knowledge of shop drawings and quality standards.
- Excellent clerical and communication skills.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to stoop, Kneel, crawl, lay, bend, squat, and walk for long periods.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
