Product Safety Engineer

• Determine project scope, develop investigation plans, and define project specifications (cost, time, sample requirements) by analyzing client input and product construction.
• Perform and oversee product assessments and component evaluations at client or TUV SUD sites, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., EN/IEC/UL 62368, 61010, 60335).
• Conduct technical file reviews, document findings, and prepare client reports in a timely manner.
• Review product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes, documenting any deficiencies.
• Act as the principal intermediary between clients and operating areas throughout project lifecycles.
• Communicate technical issues and project progress with clients and internal teams.
• Lead meetings with clients to discuss project updates and test-specific issues.
• Innovate and develop new testing techniques and procedures as needed.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a laboratory conducting electrical safety testing.
• In-depth knowledge of national and international electrical product safety standards (preferably for electric vehicle charging, batteries, energy storage systems).
• Familiarity with test equipment and applicable standards committees.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Project management experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $65,000 - $95,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 2 weeks for other parents, health plans (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance and disability, and generous paid time off.
• Travel: Occasional travel required to client or TUV SUD sites.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally; ability to sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers for extended periods.
