We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring math and language arts at the elementary and middle school levels. Comfort with classes like Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Calculus are a bonus. Spanish fluency is also a bonus. Core competencies with teaching the subject to children aged 5 to 14 are the priority.
- Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
- Tutoring multiple subjects effectively
- Strengthening students’ study habits and identifying how each student learns best
- Motivating students who need that extra oomph
- Working with up to three students at a time
- Being engaging, nimble, and professional
- Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree)
- 1 years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work MOST of the following: Monday through Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Our peak hours are Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, so applicants should be available for those hours at minimum.
