Special Education Tutor - Reading, Phonics, and Math

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Lawndale, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Lawndale, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours, 2 sessions a week for 1.15 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35
  
  

Ideal Candidate:

• SPED or RBT credential required.
• Experience working with students with Autism and/or other learning differences.
• Skilled in foundational literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word recognition, reading fluency, and comprehension.
• Skilled in foundational math instruction, including number sense, counting, sequencing, and basic operations.
• Knowledgeable in behavior intervention strategies and able to respond effectively to challenging behaviors.
• Patient, structured, and able to maintain a positive, motivating environment.
• Creative in incorporating multisensory approaches and student interests into lessons
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide structured, individualized instruction in foundational literacy and math skills.
• Deliver phonics-based, multisensory reading instruction, focusing on letter-sound correspondence, blending CVC words, sight word recognition, and reading fluency.
• Support the development of number sense and foundational math concepts through hands-on activities, manipulatives, and visual supports.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and positive reinforcement to maintain engagement and respond to challenging behaviors.
• Incorporate student interests, such as iPad or YouTube activities, into lessons to enhance motivation.
• Collaborate with caregivers and align tutoring with the student's IEP and therapy goals.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on student needs and responses
