About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Special Education tutor to provide individualized general academic support to a 4th-grade student. The tutor will work in a one-on-one setting and support learning through structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction.
Details:
- Competitive pay based on specialization ($25-$35/hour).
- Mondays to Fridays, starting at 5:00 PM
- Weekend schedule flexibility available
- 1.5 hours per session, three times per week
- Start in January 2026
- Provide individualized instruction in Reading and Math
- Implement behavior support strategies to improve focus, attention, and engagement
- Apply principles from BCBA / Behavioral Intervention Therapy and Occupational Therapy as appropriate
- Use structured routines and evidence-based strategies to support learning
- Adapt instruction to meet the student's unique learning and behavioral needs
- Create a calm, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- The student has Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Experiences challenges with distraction and maintaining focus
- Benefits from structured, consistent, and supportive instruction
- Required: Special Education (SPED) experience
- Background in BCBA / Behavioral Intervention Therapy and Occupational Therapy preferred
- Spanish proficiency strongly preferred
- Experience working with students with autism
- Patient, consistent, and flexible teaching approach
- Strong behavior management and engagement skills
