Details
- In-Person Tutoring in Gardena, CA
- Schedule: 10 hours, 2x a week for 1hr 15mins
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Experience working with students with Autism or other learning differences at the early elementary level.
- Skilled in foundational literacy and math instruction, as well as early writing development.
- Strong behavior-management skills and ability to implement structured, supportive instruction.
- Patient, calm, and creative, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Knowledge of ABA strategies and experience collaborating with therapy teams preferred.
- Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy, including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, reading fluency, and comprehension.
- Reinforce foundational math skills, including number concepts, counting, and early problem-solving strategies.
- Support handwriting development and early writing skills.
- Implement structured routines, behavior management strategies, and positive reinforcement to address moderate behaviors and maintain engagement.
- Incorporate the student’s interests—such as stuffed animals, puppies, drawing, and painting—into lessons to motivate participation.
- Conduct assessments to determine current skill levels and guide tailored instruction.
- Collaborate with caregivers and other service providers, including ABA therapists, to ensure consistency across learning environments.
