Details
- In-Person Tutoring in Gardena, CA
- Schedule: 10 hours, 2 sessions a week for 1.25 hour sessions
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Experience working with students with autism and/or other learning differences.
- Strong background in high school academics, especially English, History, Spanish, Math, and Biology.
- Ability to teach comprehension strategies, reading fluency, and writing structure.
- Skilled in supporting executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and task completion.
- Patient, positive, and energetic teaching style that keeps students engaged and motivated.
- Preferred: Background in Special Education or secondary education tutoring.
- Provide individualized tutoring in English comprehension, writing, reading, math, History, Spanish, and Biology.
- Support organization and study skills to improve academic consistency and independence.
- Use engaging, structured instruction to reinforce comprehension, problem-solving, and fluency.
- Incorporate the student’s interests—such as computers, YouTube, board games, and building/construction activities—to make learning interactive and relevant.
- Encourage persistence and confidence through positive reinforcement and patient guidance.
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies to meet ongoing academic goals.
