Details
- In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA
- Schedule: 10 hours, 2 sessions a week for 1.15 hours
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Experience working with students with Autism or other learning differences.
- Strong background in elementary to middle school literacy, writing, and math.
- Skilled in providing structured, engaging instruction aligned with the 6th-grade curriculum.
- Ability to support social-emotional learning, self-regulation, and confidence-building.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to use creative strategies to keep sessions positive and productive.
- Preferred: Background in Special Education or experience supporting students with IEPs.
- Provide individualized support in literacy, writing, and math, focusing on concepts such as multiplication, division, ratios, fractions, and word problems.
- Assist with writing tasks by helping the student express ideas clearly, organize thoughts, and respond effectively to prompts.
- Offer homework support and, when time allows, implement supplemental lessons to reinforce key academic concepts.
- Model and practice social awareness skills, including interpreting social cues, managing frustration, and understanding peer interactions.
- Incorporate activities such as role-playing and positive self-talk to strengthen communication and emotional regulation.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment tailored to the student’s needs and interests.
- Utilize positive reinforcement strategies that align with the student’s preferences (non-sticker-based).
