Details
- In-Person Tutoring in Temecula, CA
- Schedule: 16 hours per month; 2 days a week, 2 hour sessions
- Pay range is between $25 and $35 per hour
- Experience working with high school students with ASD or similar learning profiles.
- Strong background in social studies and/or science instruction.
- Understanding of executive functioning supports and strategies.
- Patient, encouraging, and able to balance structure with flexibility.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Background in education, special education, or related field preferred.
- Provide subject-specific tutoring in Government, Integrated Math 1, and Earth Science.
- Support executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, task initiation, and follow-through.
- Help the student break down assignments into manageable steps and develop effective study habits.
- Encourage comprehension and critical thinking through guided questioning and discussion.
- Maintain a structured, calm, and patient approach that promotes focus and reduces frustration.
- Integrate the student’s interests—such as video games and guitar—into lessons to increase motivation and engagement.
- Communicate progress and effective strategies with the family as needed.
