College Tutor - Math, Chemistry & Writing Support

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Victorville, CA

Details

• In-Person Tutoring in Victorville, CA
• Schedule: 16 hours, 2 sessions a week for 2 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35
  
  

Ideal Candidate

• Patient, kind, and engaging, with the ability to create a supportive learning environment.
• Experienced working with students with intellectual or learning differences.
• Skilled in math, chemistry, writing, and study strategies at the high school and introductory college level.
• Able to tailor instruction to the student’s pace, strengths, and academic needs.
• Creative and flexible, using motivating strategies to maintain focus and confidence.
• Comfortable tutoring in a library or other structured learning environment.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in math concepts including Algebra 2 and Statistics fundamentals.
• Support understanding of college-level chemistry concepts and problem-solving strategies.
• Strengthen writing skills, including organization, grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
• Teach executive functioning strategies such as task management, organization, and study routines.
• Use structured and flexible instruction to maintain focus, engagement, and comprehension.
• Incorporate the student’s interests and strengths to create a motivating and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the student and caregiver to reinforce learning goals.
• Assist with planning and organizing assignments to promote academic independence.
